Instructional Technology Overview

April 30, 2016

Ajyal International School - Al Falah proudly embraces instructional technology (IT) as an important element in educating students with the 21st Century skills they will need to be successful in the world of tomorrow.  AIS has chosen to use Apple TVs and iPads as the preferred medium for accomplishing this goal.

Currently at many schools teachers must go through an inefficient process of scheduling students into a stationary computer lab and then students logging in or signing out technological devices to be deployed into classrooms in order to enrich learning. AIS plans to use Apple TVs and iPads as a superior approach.

Utilizing iPads and Apple TVs in classrooms gives students direct, hands-on and immediate access to IT in a user friendly format that students enjoy and can make creative use of.  The world of Apple opens up numerous pathways and possibilities for enhancing student learning, including podcasts, hundreds of educational apps, AirPlay, iTunes, iBooks and many other innovative approaches.

In planning for implementation of an effective IT program at AIS in 2016-17, teachers and members of the Senior Leadership Team have conducted extensive planning sessions, attended workshops, and performed site visits at schools currently utilizing Apple technology in classroom instruction.  Our goal is not just that students make good grades, but that they experience a fun and empowering learning journey while at school which properly prepares them for success in later life.

A goal has been set that AIS teachers will join the ranks of the world-renowned group of “Apple Distinguished Educators” and that the school will achieve the coveted award of “Apple Distinguished School.” Additional information about both programs can be found at:
