Nicola Al Mazrouei

Deputy Principal | Head of KG

My name is Nicola Al Mazrouei.

I am a Scottish teacher who graduated from St Andrews College of Education, Glasgow University, Scotland. I have been living and teaching in Abu Dhabi for the last 24 years. Over the years I have worked for International Schools and also Zayed University. I have been the Head of thriving FS & Primary sections within schools that are predominantly Emirati in Abu Dhabi City and in MBZ. In those years, I worked closely with staff, parents and students, to develop the delivery of National Curriculum and Early Years programs (EYFS).  I am currently Vice Principal of Ajyal International School- Al Falah. I have been part of the leadership team within the school since its opening in 2015. I have witnessed the school growing from strength to strength not only in numbers but in reputation. Most of my teaching has been with Emirati children and through the years I have grown to understand the dynamics of education in Abu Dhabi.

Over the years I have gained the confidence and trust of parents. As an educator, the ultimate aim for myself, is that students enjoy school and ultimately learn and grow. Even though I am ‘western’ I have fully embraced the culture here and therefore have a deep understanding of Emirati expectations and perceptions of education.
