Nicola Al Mazrouei

Deputy Principal | Head of KG

I am a Scottish teacher and have been living and teaching in Abu Dhabi for the last 26 years. I studied at Glasgow University and moved to teach in Abu Dhabi in 1996. I have previously worked in a project that was monitored by Zayed University and involved working in Government schools reforming the teaching of English. I have been a Head of a thriving FS & Primary section within a school that is predominantly Emirati and a Primary Head of a brand-new British school in Abu Dhabi. I have been lucky enough to develop my skills in management and leadership, school development and ADEK administration, through Professional development. I feel that I am unique in that most of my teaching has been with Emirati children and through the years I have grown to understand the dynamics of education here in Abu Dhabi.

I am a founding member of Ajyal International School Al Falah management team and have watched the school grow from strength to strength. I have taken a direct lead in the Early Years department and played what I believe as a vital role in its success. I have recently passed the leadership Exam with the Ministry of Education.

I am married to an Emirati and have 3 children who seem to have the best of both cultures! Throughout my years working in a Senior Management Team, I have gained the confidence and trust of parents. As an educator, they trust my judgment and can see that the aim for myself is that students enjoy school and ultimately learn and grow.
